Styling Advice

When you make an appointment to hire a Rachel Skinner Millinery, you will be met at the boutique by Rachel herself, or by a trained member of staff, who will show you the collection and give you expert guidance on choosing the right style headpiece for your occasion.

Hand Crafted and Unique

Each piece of millinery is hand crafted and unique as we usually only make one of each design. Therefore, you can guarantee that you will have a one-off design for your special day.

The Hiring Process

  • Once the hat or headpiece has been selected, a booking can be made where we will arrange with you when you would like to collect and return the hat to us.

  • The full hire fee of £125 is payable at the time of booking to secure your choice of hat.

  • The hire period is seven days. Longer periods of time can be arranged at an additional cost.

  • If the booking is cancelled less than 14 days prior to the collection date a 50% refund will be given. In the event of a previous hirer not returning a headpiece that you have booked, or they have returned it damaged, Rachel Skinner Millinery will endeavour to find a replacement. If this is not possible a full refund will be given.

  • Please treat your hired hat with great care. Each piece has taken many hours to make. At the time of hire, credit/debit card details will be taken for a deposit. If the hat or headpiece is returned late, a late fee of £20 per day will be charged to the credit/debit card for each consecutive day beginning on the date the hat was due to be returned.

  • Hats must be returned in the same condition as when taken and will be inspected on return.

    If the hat or headpiece is damaged (damage includes dents, broken feathers, loss of decoration, water damage, and burns) then a fee will be charged at £30 per hour to fix the damage, and decided by Rachel Skinner Millinery depending on the time needed to fix the hat.

    Hat boxes must also be returned in the same condition as when taken.

  • All hire hats and headpieces remain the property of Rachel Skinner Millinery.
