Rachel’s Tips for Traveling with a Hat

I don’t think a blog post about summer hats would be complete without some tips on how to travel with them!  I usually get messages from customers asking what to do AFTER they arrive on holiday and find their hat squashed in their luggage - so in the interest of forward planning here are my suggestions for traveling this summer with a hat!

If you’re traveling with an occasion hat it’s best to check with the airline what size hat box you can carry on to fit into overhead lockers.

If you are traveling with a Panama, once your case is packed, a usefup trick is to make an area in your clothes the size of the hat’s crown then place hat upside down so the crown fits snug into space you’ve made. Pack soft items like socks etc into crown of hat. 

Another idea is to purchase a magnetic hat clip that clips the hat to the outside of your bag.  Of course, after you see our latest selection you might just want to wear the hat on the plane!
